Christopher Loric - SESG Explorer: Science Fiction, Military Thriller, & Space Adventure. This is episode 676 of Teaching Learning Leading K12, an audio podcast.
Christopher Loric served as a United States Navy Officer and retired as a Commander, with a yearlong deployment in Iraq during a military career that spanned 28 years. He is also a science-fiction military writer who has penned his debut novel, SESG Explorer.
Loric’s last assignment concluded at the outset of the covid pandemic, having served NATO at the headquarters of Supreme Allied Command Transformation.
He was awarded, honored, and recognized by the government for his years of hard work, including:

* Meritorious Service Medal (Two Awards)
* Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Four Awards)
* Navy Unit Commendation Award
* Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation Award

* Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal
* Iraqi Campaign Medal with EGA/bronze star
* Global War on Terrorism Service Medal
* Korean Defense Service Medal
* Humanitarian Service Medal
* Overseas Service Ribbon
* US Navy Rifle Expert and Navy Pistol Expert
He earned a BBA in Finance and an MBA from the University of Oklahoma. He received another Masters in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
Born and raised in Oklahoma, he also had brief stints in Long Beach, California and Daytona Beach, Florida. His military service took him to Japan, South Korea, Iraq, Guam, and Germany, as well as to Virginia, Rhode Island, Nebraska, Minnesota, Washington, and California. He brings an international and military perspective to his writings.
He resides in Jellico, Tennessee. He looks forward to the day that man settles on Mars and expands to the rest of the solar system.

Sara Delano Moore - Vice President of Research & Content - ORIGO Education: Spaced Learning: Helping Children Learn Mathematics
Sara Delano Moore focuses on helping teachers and students understand mathematics as a coherent and connected discipline. An experienced teacher and nationally recognized speaker, her work emphasizes the power of deep understanding and multiple representations for learning. Sara’s interests include building conceptual understanding of mathematics to support procedural fluency and applications, incorporating engaging literature into mathematics & science instruction, and connecting mathematics to engineering design in meaningful ways. She is a fourth-generation educator with experience teaching mathematics and science to K-8 students as well as experience teaching pre-service and in-service teachers at the university level. Sara is an author of the Visible Learning for Mathematics series, the Mathematize It series, and the Mastering Math Manipulatives series of books for Corwin Mathematics. She currently serves as Vice President of Research and Content at ORIGO Education and Chair of ORIGO’s Mathematics Advisory Board.

Aditya Nagrath, PhD helps students overcome mathematics anxiety. Aditya is the creator and founder of Elephant Learning Mathematics Academy which helps students learn years of mathematics over the course of a few months using their system just 10 minutes per day, 3 days per week.
With a PhD in Mathematics & Computer Sciences, Dr. Nagrath has spent over 30 years in industry as a software engineer, author, leader, speaker, and serial entrepreneur working on everything from atomic clocks to iOS and Android apps to Amazon’s Kindle Fire. As the Founder of Elephant Head Software, which won the prestigious JD Edwards Innovation Award in 2015, he has also done software projects for Pearson, Verizon, Telefonica, JD Edwards (Oracle), and other billion-dollar companies.

Ruth E. Harper is a self-taught artist from England. She loves to echo nature in her work. She lives in Iowa with an adorable husband – they have six grown-up kids between them (plus handfuls of grandbabies!). She is the illustrator of the NYT bestseller The Kissing Hand (with Nancy M. Leak), Happy Mamas, Where Do Creatures Sleep at Night? and Where Do Big Creatures Sleep at Night?
