Teachers at Work: Designing Schools Where Teachers and Students Thrive with Talia Milgrom-Elcott - 223
Teachers at Work: Designing Schools Where Teachers and Students Thrive is a new report produced by 100Kin10. Today, I'm talking with Talia Milgrom-Elcott the co-founder and executive director of 100Kin10.
Teachers at Work: Designing Schools Where Teachers and Students Thrive focuses on what needs to happen in schools to make its teacher corps want to stay and inspire youth. In the introduction of the report, this is stated: “When teachers flourish as professionals in schools, they leave the classroom far less frequently and have significantly higher satisfaction.” Talia talked with me about this statement as well as much more concerning the future of schools, its students, and its teachers.
Under her leadership, 100Kin10 which is focused on training and producing 100,000 STEM teachers in 10 years is becoming a reality as more than 250 leading organizations from across sectors have come together to make the goal possible by 2021.
Talia is a frequent public speaker and moderator, focusing on social innovation, science and technology, education, philanthropy, and the tenuous balancing act that is running a start-up, being a mother and trying to have a life.
